Topshop is love

December 16th, 2007

I went to town today to look for some Christmas presents but wound up mostly finding more things to add to my own wishlist. Topshop is one of my favorite stores and they keep giving me more reasons to love them. I fell instantly in love with two pair of shoes in the shop. I also passed through a Swedish store called Monki on a mission to find a tight black dress I’d seen there. They didn’t have the dress but they did have a very cool black “plastic bag”-style handbag, exactly the style I have been looking for since last year! I’m going back to buy it tomorrow.

I did however buy a new eyeshadow, from MAC (my favorite makeup brand) and I also tried some blush that I’m planning on popping by and buying tomorrow as well because I realized how good quality it is! The girl working at the desk brushed some on my cheeks and it’s still sitting there! The blush I am using now is horrible compared to MAC, it rubs off right away! MAC is the way to go.

Makeupstore-party, fashion shoot and interview with Lykke Li

December 15th, 2007

On Monday I styled a fashion shoot which took all day. I didn’t get home until late on monday evening because I stayed at the office once we got back from the shoot and organized all the clothes. Everything was lying in piles by my desk at work. While everyone else went home, one after the other I stayed and ended up working all alone in a dark office and didn’t get home until around 9pm. The shoot was great though and the photos turned out magnificently!

Tuesday was another day of hard work and meetings followed by some shopping, I didn’t wind up buying anything. I was looking for a dress for a party on wednesday.

On Wednesday after work I ran to quickly shop a dress I had seen and then headed home to do my hair and makeup and then ran straight out the door again, met up my friend Luis in town and headed to a party Makeupstore was hosting.

The party was great! Emilia de Poret and Adam Tensta performed. I recently interviewed Emilia and did an article on her wardobe, she showed me all her gorgeous clothes. Her wardobe is full of Louboutin shoes and Lars Wallin dresses not to mention Chanel boots and bags. I’d swap with her any day! You should really check out her music though, she’s a really sweet girl and a great singer. Adam Tensta is also awesome, his performance was great and he really got me shaking my booty!

On Friday I interviewed Swedish artist Lykke Li and in the evening we had a bit of a party at work, it quickly turned in to quite the wild party. We were dancing in my boss’ office and I had a couple great laughs. Because of my hectic and fun-filled week I decided to end it on a high note and headed home early to enjoy a calm weekend.

Today (saturday) has been a relaxing day. I enjoyed some Ben & Jerrys and worked on some Christmas presents for friends and family. I’ve been quite creative with my gifts this year. Tomorrow we’re getting a Christmas tree and I’m going to head in to town to do some gift shopping as well as try to find an outfit for the annual Christmas party we’re having with work next Thursday.

Adam Tensta

This guy is awesome! I saw him perform on wednesday at a party I attended. He’s so great! After his performance I had a little chat with him, he seems like a really cool guy. We might be doing something with him through the magazines I work with so I’ll get the chance to meet him again - great!

Mischa Barton lookalike..?

December 8th, 2007

Yesterday I interviewed Rafaela Lindeberg, she works for Sweidsh channel four news and has become somewhat of a famous face after several magazines have listed her on their lists of Swedens sexiest. She has also been featured in several big magazines and on websites.

I have heard people mention they see similarities between Rafaela and Mischa Barton but up until yesterday I didn’t really agree with them. I had a photographer with me to the interview and as I was looking through the photos in the camera I had to agree, she does look a lot like the O.C-star.

What do you think?

Fat? Pop Idol

December 8th, 2007

It is next to impossible to avoid being bombarded with information, photos and gossip about Swedish Pop Idol. I am not a huge fan so I haven’t followed the show this past year. Last night was the final show and they announced the winner, Marie Picasso. Kelly Clarkson (American Idols first and most successful winner) was here in Sweden for the show and performed her hit “Because of you”.

Obviously this was big news at work, my colleagues are avid fans of the show and have seen every episode since the show started this fall. Naturally, the subject made its way into our conversation last night after work and I was stunned at how several of my colleagues called Marie Picasso “fat”. Sure, according to hollywood-standars she’s a “plus size” but there is no way I would stretch to calling her “fat”. One colleague in particular was blurting out all kinds of horrible descriptions of her, saying she looked horrible and dubbed her a “fat cow”. I sat stunned at this information and could not understand through what eyes these people were seeing Marie Picasso.

According to which standars is this woman fat? If anything she is as close to normal and healthy as one can get, it’s refreshing to see someone beautiful and healthy standing on stage. I’m tired of seeing thin girls on TV, they make me nervous. Watching models on catwalks or stick-thin artists on stage I can’t help squinting while waiting for the moment when they pass out or die in the middle of their performance.

I feel ashamed that I am working with people who have such a screwed up perseption of what is healthy.

The Richie-Madden Foundation

December 8th, 2007

We all know I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie and I keep finding more reasons to love her. Along with her boyfriend, Joel Madden, Nicole has recently launched “The Richie-Madden Foundation”. The foundation aims to help poor women as well as bring meaningful opportunities to children in all corners of the world.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hosted a surprise baby shower for dozens of disadvantaged mothers-to-be at the Los Angeles Free Clinic on December 3rd. This marked the official launch of the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation.

Fashionista wishlist

November 24th, 2007

I can’t help clicking my way in to websites like net-a-porter.com and my-wardrobe.com. It’s quite unavoidable when Christmas is right around the corner and these online shops are filling my mailbox with wishlists and giftguides full of luxurious items. Had my wallet allowed it I would have been doing some serious shopping right now. I can’t get enough of these gorgeous items above!

Marc Jacobs Bag, 450 euros
Fontini Jacket by Theory, 459 euros
Bubble hem dress by Marlene Birger, 275 euros
Alice bag by Chloé, 1 895 euros
Paddington bowling tote by Chloé, 1 265 euros

Miss sweet: Zooey Deschanel

November 4th, 2007

Zooey Deschanel is absolutely adorable. I just can’t get enough of her. Not only is she sweet and small she’s also got a fantastic eye for style. Her red carpet ensembles never fail and her street style is just as stylish. Her style reminds me a lot of one of my favorite magazines, Lula. She actually guest edited an issue recently and I’d love to get my hands on it!
