Trend: Headbands
Celebrities to you, everybody loves headbands!
By Christina Eriksson 15th May 2006
Headbands have been around for years but they’ve become a big hit again
recently. Audrey Hepburn set the trend back in her days, while now our favorite
Hollywood stars and leading designers have laid claim to the style again.
It-girls like Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan have jumped on the trend and I
suggest you do too!
To start, draw your inspiration from today’s stars or dig through the archives
and copy the style from classic ladies of the past. Headbands can be worn
either with your hair up or down. Let some of your hair fall forward or pull
it all back. Play around with one until coming up with something that you
feel is completely "you".

The classic headband is an arched metal or plastic piece that brushes you hair
back from your forehead but don’t forget the more modern-style headband--easily
created by folding a scarf to tie around your head.
Update the headband look for spring and summer by choosing brighter colors.
The design house Pucci is famous for their vibrant patterned scarves which are
great for the sunnier seasons. Great vintage scarves can be found at thrift
stores for wallet-friendly prices. Check your local chain stores for cheap,
classic headbands and cute scarves. Towards the end of the summer, look for
transitional headbands with touches of white or green and once fall comes
around, go for darker earth tones such as brown, beige and black.
Get it while it’s hot! Check out the top picks from Fashtastic below.
