Knitty gritty
These knitted wonders are your saviour this fall
By Christina Eriksson 8th September 2006
The wind is screeching as I peek out my window, it’s pushing the raindrops against the fragile glass cover that keeps me sheilded from the ongoing storm outside. I’ve got three layers of clothes on and I still feel cold. All I can think about is warm wool coats and layers upon layers of cozy sweaters.
Half a year ago, when the sun was just about to pop out of it’s winter hybernation period, high end designers like Marc Jacobs were already thinking ahead and using their masterminds to create fashion that would be suitable for me on a day like today. Believe me, I’d love a thick garment from Marc Jacobs right about now to bundle up in.
As with any other trend, chain stores (online and offline) are catching on, providing the opportunity of inexpensive alternatives for fashionable ladies on a budget (did I just hear my name being called?) Whenever planning a shopping trip, always remember your online options as there are some breathtaking deals to be made. Second hand shops and eBay are also great stops to consider.
Below are some of my favorite picks for fall and winter. All items are brilliant for layered outfits (another big style I’m going to shoot for this fall). From your inexpensive (but very trendy) options from ASOS.com to your designer label (eye-burning-pricetag) items from Marc by Marc Jacobs – the choice is yours!
Pompom sweater: Girlshop.com $322, Grey knitted vest: Asos.com $123.50, Knit striped dress: Asos.com $47.50, Animal print top/dress: Asos.com $41.80, Long sleeve tee: Marc by Marc Jacobs €246, Oversize sleeve and neckline top: LaROK $198.
