Little Black Dress
A must in every girl’s wardrobe
By Christina Eriksson 1st May 2006
This coming Saturday I am invited to a cocktail party, a fancy cocktail party.
As I dig through my wardrobe to find something to wear I notice my beautiful
little black dress. "Perfect!" This dress will not only serve as the perfect
attire for the upcoming cocktail party, it will double as my prom dress at the
end of May.
Come across the abbreviation "LBD" and wondered what on earth that three letter
term might mean? Little Black Dress. A wardrobe is not complete until it
includes a timeless little black dress. From Holly Golightly (Breakfast at
Tiffany’s) to Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City), neither would survive without
a little black dress in their wardrobe. Holly Golightly is a classic image of
a sophisticated and fashionable lady with her adorable little black dresses and
chic style. Carrie Bradshaw is the modern version of Holly Golightly, with her
astounding wardrobe full of designer pieces and Manolo Blahnik shoes!
A little black dress is a great piece to include in your wardrobe as it is
timeless, meaning it will last you a long time as it does not go out of style.
A LBD is also a simple, no-fail item for several occasions.
A socialite like Carrie Bradshaw will find several occasions to wear her
little black dress(es) whereas you might feel like buying a dress is a waste
of money as you have no events to attend. Think again. There will definitely
come a time when you will need a classic piece for a friend’s dinner party, a
premiere of some sort, a job related party or other similar events. This is
where your little black dress comes in. Other dresses may fail to fulfill the
dress code of whatever event you are going to take part in, however a little
black dress seldom fails to suffice.
To help you out on your little black dress-hunt I have chosen ten adorable,
chic and timeless black dresses. See this as your opportunity to finally buy
that little black dress for all the future events you will be attending!
