12 Fun Summer Wedges
The perfect beginners' heel
By Christina Eriksson 6th May 2006

Walking in high heels is a real challenge if you are a beginner. The height and the thin heel is hard to balance on while trying to walk gracefully and worry about your hair, dress and makeup all being in order.

As a first timer, wedges are the perfect alternative. The hefty heel gives you extra support to help you keep your balance. Start out with a low wedge heel and gradually work your way up. Once you feel confident in high wedge heels try wearing a low normal heel and continue to work your way up from there. A good idea is to always practice walking in your heels for a couple days before heading out to your fancy event. Get used to the feel of your heels and practice how to walk gracefully in them. That way you will be prepared and will feel confident in your heels as opposed to insecure and worried about tripping into someone.

I’ve picked out twelve fun summer wedges for you, they’re all a little crazy but crazy doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing? They're fun to look at either way! Check them out and see if you can find yourself a pair of trainee heels to start practicing in. Go on girl – strut that stuff!
